Exciting News...

Hello, all!

I figured I should give you a bit of an update on a crazy amazing opportunity that I've been given.

My school has a completely student-run television station, and I'm currently an anchor on our news program, Newswatch 16! I can't tell you how amazing it's been to be back in the halls of the Park School of Communications and to be able to do what I love every week.

Now onto my big news...

This journey with Eat and Be Mary so far has been so wonderful. To all of my loyal readers, thank you for taking a chance of me and reading my pages full of ways to eat healthily and live happily.

My Newswatch superiors have decided to take a chance on me too-and now Eat and Be Mary will be a SEGMENT on the Sunday broadcast each week! I couldn't be more thrilled.

I've added a new tab called "As Seen On TV" so that you won't miss any of my on-camera action as I bring my blog to life!

I'm so excited to see where this opportunity takes me, and I hope you'll continue on with me.

Here's to more living, loving, and eating.

XOXO

Welcome!

Hey, people!

My name is Mary and I'm a New Yorker. I wish the description stopped there, but really...I'm a New Yorker that lives just outside Philly during the summer. As if that wasn't enough for you to handle, I'm also coming in hot after a cool four months spent abroad in London. So, to recap...I'm a New Yorker twice-removed, honorary Pennsylvanian, and wannabe ex-Pat. Wheeew! I can't even keep it straight sometimes-so don't feel overwhelmed.

Anyways, welcome to what hopefully will be a helpful and inspiring blog for you to live healthily and happily. My summer internship at news station FOX29 allows a few days off, so I'm taking advantage of the time I have each week to whip up some recipes that are wholesome and filling--but totally guilt-free! I've always been a pretty mindful eater, but after my semester of "no rules eating," I knew it was time to buckle it on down and get to work.

I have to say that my dad Bruce really inspired me to make a change. He took his health into serious consideration after not feeling his best-and has seen amazing results. Special thanks always to my mom Teresa who so diligently makes his meals and taught me how to make the basics like shakes and breakfast cakes to get started. These two are the reason that I knew I could do it!

So, I've always been an active person, working out almost every day of the week. The way it makes me feel is indescribable-but I didn't know how good it would feel when I started really watching what I ate. The feeling is double what it was before, and now I feel unstoppable. I hope that this blog can help you get there too--and if you're already feelin' fantastic, go you! Let's maintain a healthy lifestyle together!

Look here for words of motivation,  recipes that are a cinch (usually) to whip up, and ways to pump up your workout! I'll also be sharing some music that gets me inspired from time to time.

Cheers to being healthy and fit...

Let's eat and be Mary.

xoxo
