Hello, my friends!
Ok first, BRR. I was doing snow coverage all last night for work, so that means I was in a literal tundra/snow globe for a looong time.
But hey it was so incredibly fun, just exhausting! I love what I do.
I'm gonna try something new here, and just have it be like that "Hey, it's Ok!" section in one of the magazines I always read.
So, going along with that--the fact is...sometimes you can't eat the packed lunch that you brought in the car...because it's as cold as you are and that seems like a vile thing to do.
Instead, I opted for some hot cocoa and a chicken sandwich on a multigrain bun--with lettuce tomato and onions...with a salad instead of the fries that came with it.
Sorry not sorry, the sandwich was warm and Mare was cold.
Just letting you all know that IT'S ALRIGHT, you can let yourself do something you didn't plan on, as long as you stick to something moderately good for ya.
We're talking about food here, but with everything in life-plans change.

Happy Friday everyone, or as I like to affectionately call it, "FRI-YAY."
Hope its been a productive week and that you're ready for some R&R this weekend...I know I am.
If you're planning on enjoying an alcoholic beverage later on to kick things off, I found this handy-dandy chart and I think you might like it!
I don't typically count calories when I'm enjoying a night out as far as the drinks go--I figure I don't drink as much as I did while I was in college, so why not enjoy myself. Either way, the humidity in Bemidji plus no A/C in the apartment means that I'm sweating out way more than usual HA!

Gooood Friday morning, everyone!
How are we all feeling? I hope you're feeling accomplished after this week- I know I am! It's been hard to fight my stress-cravings lately, so I'm glad that things are finally calming down (a bit) again.
Anyways, if you're looking for a way to switch up your salad game, look no further than good ol' spinach.
Popeye had it right ladies and gents, it's loaded with good stuff like fiber...and it's only about seven calories per cup! That's right. Eat away, people.

Well, here we are everybody...another glorious Friday is upon us again!
With every weekend that comes along, the temptation to snack comes with it-well at least for me it does!

Alright, let's be real here-Valentine's Day eve (yeah, I'm making that a thing) is upon us, and there's nothing we can do about it.

Today, I thought it would be appropriate to talk to all you soda lovers out there. It's ok, I get it Coke is the best thing ever, truly. But, you might want to think twice about getting your mixed drinks with soda at the bar this weekend with your friends.

Happy happy Friday, everybody! Well, you've made it through another week yet again--amazing how that works, isn't it?
Well, I for one am amazed at the fact that I haven't updated this page since October. Hope you'll forgive me for that one!

You know, Charlie Brown had it right when he said pumpkins were great.
With October and all things fall upon us, I thought it'd be a good move to give you some information on the health benefits of pumpkin!
It's no secret that we Americans get real excited at the first mention of a pumpkin spice latte, k-cup and anything that smells like pumpkin for that matter. I'm no exception to the rule.
Anyways that brings me to the great discovery I made just a bit ago--a website called Food Facts by Mercola! Basically, the site provides a nice clean list of some of the most popular food items and what there history is, as well as their benefits! It's a gold mine for health-seekers like me.

Happy Friday, everyone! You've officially made it through another week! Woohoo.
Just because we're heading into a holiday weekend doesn't mean that you need to absolutely ruin your healthy eating! If you want to treat yourself to something, do it.
BUT, you should definitely think about consulting this list before you pick your indulgence. Now, this is only going to work if you don't have your heart set on anything yet. If that's your deal, then just have that and enjoy it.

WELL. It’s Friday, people.
Congrats, you’ve made it through another week.
This week, I’ve been looking into all sorts of random health
food-related things...
At the hair salon, I was reading Shape Magazine under the
dryer instead of just catching up on the latest celebrity gossip.
To some of you, that could be so weird considering that’s
basically the time in a woman’s life when reading those trashy rumor-mills is
completely acceptable.
So, it got me thinking about one subject in particular:
Clean Eating.
I’ve tried to make a real effort to eat more whole foods as
opposed to processed and concentrated ones. That’s essentially what eating
clean is all about.

Whoa! Another week has flown by, right before our very eyes.

clock for…because you NEED that fuel.

Happy Friday, people! Well, you’ve just got to keep on
keepin’ on for one more day and then you can put your feet up and relax.
When you’ve had enough of doing nothing (if that’s possible,
ha!) you should bake something with cinnamon! My father is a hereditary
diabetic, and he’s completely changed his lifestyle in the food department.
For quite some time now, he’s been a firm believer in the
bountiful benefits of cinnamon. I’ve latched onto that same belief, and I add
it to almost everything that I bake! Black iced coffee is even a step above the
average with a pinch of ground cinnamon in it.
So, I searched around for this week’s fact and came across a
nice info-graphic that talks all about the warm spice! Perfecto.

Here we are- another Friday, another Friday Fact!
This week I scoured a webpage called Tesco Diets…quite
interesting actually! After just spending a semester abroad in London, I
learned that Tesco is a really great and (the most important component) cheap
place to get groceries and other things.
Basically a lifesaver! It’s not their direct website, but more of an
extension per say.
Any-who, this site has a lot of cool and interesting facts
about food and nutrition.
One that stood out to me, was this one:
So, I guess what I’m trying to say is…get out there and
enjoy some blueberries! They are yummy in smoothies, baked goods, or just by
themselves!
